Poor Beauty - she was cursed at birth,

A needle was her foe,

Yet with the help of a kind prince,

She’d go on to steal the show.

This year’s performance, ‘Sleeping Beauty,’ comes complete with the legendary pantomime dame in the form of Dolly, the man hunting nanny of Beauty. Dolly is employed to safeguard the princess from infancy to her 16th birthday, after a curse was bestowed upon her at birth by her wicked Aunt Karaboss. (Boo!)

Acting as a side kick to Dolly is her nice but dim son, Muddles. Between them, they get the audience singing, clapping and shouting out the traditional, and not so traditional, pantomime sayings. Oh yes they do!

Beauty’s death threat is made milder by a good fairy and of course, the presence of a handsome prince named Eric, who wakes her with a gentle kiss.

With excellent acting performances by all the cast and gorgeous vocals, this show is not to be missed. The dancing ladies, girls and gent also give credit worthy performances throughout the show and you may even get a glimpse of Susie Lowe’s young daughter as she skips across the stage.

The entire cast wear West End quality costumes throughout, and the scenery is simply enchanting.

If you do very little else in Felixstowe this January weekend, make sure you go and see this pantomime. It runs till Sunday 6th January 2019 – the times of matinee performances may vary.
