Review: Navi

Navi as Michael Jackson at the The Spa Pavilion, Felixstowe

Friday 3rd May 2019. 20.00 hours.

No sooner had the stage lights flashed on, when many of the fans of Navi AKA Michael Jackson rose to their feet spilling out into the aisles. The audience was ready to party and celebrate the music and dance routines of Michael Jackson.

Navi – the Number One Michael Jackson impersonator, made a return visit to The Spa Pavilion and brought with him Jennifer Batten. Jennifer was Michael Jackson’s lead guitarist and worked with him on three of his world tours as well as performing with him at a Super Bowl. Together, Navi, Jennifer, three dancers and a four-piece band produced an amazing, feel-good show.

Navi gave brilliant performances of many of the Michael Jackson hits, including: Smooth Criminal, Billie Jean, Scream and Man in the Mirror. In the second part of the show, there was a tribute to the Jackson Five and Jackson’s earlier songs. I personally felt that Navi’s delivery of ‘Rock with You’ was outstanding.

There were magnificently sparkly jackets worn by Navi and, of course, the Jackson glove – which got a round of applause on its own! Throughout the evening, Navi engaged with the audience and was charming and witty throughout.

Navi is clearly much-loved by the Spa audience and the appreciation of his talent was tangible in the auditorium. Here’s to the next time he visits Felixstowe - we will all look forward to rocking with Navi again soon.
