Fans of Strictly Come Dancing had been waiting approximately eighteen months to see these two Strictly legends grace the stage of the Spa Pavilion, and tonight they finally got to see them. Ian Waite - tall, elegant and blonde, and the Italian pocket-rocket, Vincent Simone, were finally able to perform their show - 'Act Two,' and it was a show that didn't disappoint. Along with the amazing singer Amelia Adams and two very glamourous and talented female dancers, the former Strictly professionals gave the audience an eclectic mix of song, dance, comedy and chat.
There were plenty of highlights in the show - namely Ian and his dance partner wowing the audience with a 'fab-u-lous' samba and then Vincent performing a contemporary tango whilst Amelia sang the most beautiful Italian song - 'Caruso'.
Tribute was paid to the stage musical 'Chicago' and also to 'Singing in the Rain' - although in this particular production Vincent was dressed as the man who came to fix the street light!
In the second act, Vincent took the part of a female ballroom dancer whilst Ian gracefully took the lead. As patriotic as ever, Vincent made sure that he wore undergarments made from an Italian flag and that the audience got more than a few glimpses of them!
The pièce de resistance was when Vincent performed the Argentine Tango - a dance that he and his former Strictly partner Flavia had become renowned for. His slick, speedy and sweeping footwork, dispersed with ganchos (hooks) made for an outstanding performance.
The finale comprised of the five member cast disco dancing to the song 'One Night Only', complete with big hair and sequins. The show was a total joy to watch and the talent of the cast, just breath taking.
