This was an event for anyone that loves the sound of a guitar and its history.

The show started off by going back to the days of the fifites.

The guitar sounds, and singing by the band took us back to Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran and Hank Marvin, to name just a few.

The band also dressed and danced to the era, which allowed the audience to relive those Golden days.

The history was also portrayed by film and discussion, which gave the evening an interesting illustration of this wonderful instrument.

With over 30 Guitars on display to be played, the band got moving through the years.

Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton were the two biggest names from the sixties era, and Phil Walker and his band matched up to the accuracy of these 2 great guitarists.

I also thought the backdrops and lighting really matched up brilliantly to the music.

The band was humorous and involved the audience, and they lapped it up.

Once into the decade of the seventies, it was on overdrive as the band threw out classics from the heavy rock sounds of AC/DC, Black Sabbath to Peter Frampton and Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour, Comfortably Numb, complete with laser show.

The highlight for me was when Phil Walker displayed his talent of preforming Queen’s Brian May’s guitar skills while Freddie Mercury was singing on the big screen. Wow - that was something else!

The audience pushed for an encore, and the band got us rocking in the aisles to the end.

A concert, a history lesson, and a show all rolled up into one.

Thank you to the team of 'The Story of Guitar Heroes', and to the Spa Pavilion for giving us another great night out.
