Advertised as the UK’s Number 1 Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band, and considering their most prolific years were before I was born, this show, by Creedence Clearwater Review, is truly going to be the closest I will ever get to experiencing CCR live.

The show was a fabulous tribute to celebrate the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival between 1968 and 1972, where they had fourteen consecutive Top 10 singles and five consecutive Top 10 albums in the US.

The first half was the ‘Green River’ album in its entirety and ending with ‘The Night Time is the Right Time’ and a few extra tracks to take us to the interval which included an extended version of ‘I Heard it Through the Grapevine’ and ‘Shine the Light on Me’

The second half was jam-packed with all the classic hits from the albums of this time, including ’Cosmo’s Factory’. All the songs were there and included: ‘Susie Q’, ‘Born on the Bayou’, ‘Ramble Tamble’, Cotton Fields’, ‘Down on the Corner’, ‘I Put A Spell On You’, Fortunate Son’, ‘The Midnight Special’, ‘Long as I Can See the Light’, Proud Mary’ and many more!

This show was fully immersive into the world of Creedence Clearwater Revival as there were real sound clips of the time to help set the atmosphere, for example the crowd sounds at Woodstock, or a snippet of an interview, or something John Fogerty had said, the crowd cheers really added to the ambience of the night and was a great touch.

Lead singer Dale Taylor is a charismatic front man, full of energy and making full use of the stage to reach out to all the audience members. He introduced songs with nuggets of history such as ‘Who’ll Stop The Rain’ which was written by Fogrrty after their 2am slot at Woodstock. There was also the link of Creedence Clearwater Revival in the film The ‘Big Lebowski’ so we heard a snippet with Jeff Bridges from the movie.

Dale was very good with the crowd and getting everyone involved by talking to us and finding out our favourite album, and encouraging us to sing along. A lot of the audience members were having a wonderful evening of nostalgia as they were enjoying this music in their youth – they were loving it. The encore included ‘Have You Ever Seen the Rain?’ which was extended for the audience to sing the chorus quite a few times – it was epic!

The band were fabulous musicians and worked hard to create a celebration of the music from Creedence Clearwater Revival for everyone to enjoy.

Other places you can see them in the region in 2025 are Southwold, Cambridge, Basildon, Great Yarmouth and Diss.
